I’m a huge fan of Anton LaVey and his presentation of Satanism. I am a bit confused by the way the church is being presented today. In more recent history, it seems that the church of Satan is just about activism and really nothing about the core concepts that Anton LaVey laid out so many years ago. To me, the “religion” was essentially nothing more than Hedonism with a heavy bit of Spectacle and Theatrics thrown in. I’m glad that he knew that it had to be hugely controversial in order to get it in front of the masses and let them decide for themselves. Hedonism is in line with the true nature of the Human Animal. Religion tries to remove us from our most basic elements. We don’t need fixing, we were never broken. I have a motto that will always serve as my guiding light when facing difficult decisions. “Feels Right, Is Right”.
